After the terrorist attacks of September 11, in the United States, the Israeli-Palestinian conflict reaches a new dimension as Osama bin Laden's ideological-religious alibi to attack the United States. This induces a greater emphasis on the study of the religious-cultural roots of the conflict, within the framework of the stalled peace process. At the same time, explains the strategy of the Labor sector that still follows Shimon Peres, to relaunch him from a government led by an adversary of the Oslo Accords. In this framework, the role of Palestinian organizations acting from dissent to the Palestinian Authority led by Yasser Arafat and their sympathy for bin Laden's actions must be considered. On the other hand, the September 11 attacks force a new vision of the role of the United States as a mediator or facilitator of the peace process.
